The next hot industries

I am often asked what industries are hot and where I suggest candidates should focus.  I was told early in the search business that people should focus on what they like to do as oppose to chasing the money.  It also works with recruiters as well as they should ficus on areas of interest to them rather than what industry is hot.

A Survey by Canadian council of chief executives says that Canadian employers plan to fill 80,0000 positions over the next 5 years.

What industries plan on hiring?

The largest sectors to gain according to the Council are as follows.

-financial services

-insurance

-telecommunications

-energy

-mining

-construction

-transportation

-retail

You may want to gently nudge or introduce your kids into some of these industries to see if in fact they have interests in them.
