12 tasks that highly effective people complete before noon
To help you get off on the right foot for 2013, I thought it would be worthwhile to highlight the key points from a great article written a few years ago called "12 tasks that killer employees finish before noon" by Jada Graves.
First off it is important to note that the majority of people studied as well as the people that Steven Covey used to study all tended to be morning people.
1. They make a work to do list the night before each work day
2. They get a full night rest. Health experts say 8 hours is ideal for most people.
3. Don't hit the snooze button!
4. These people exercise regularly. There is also a strong correlation between people who exercise in the morning tend to have better time management skills.
5. They have a morning ritual where they focus on just themselves where they monitor and their emotions and self-awareness.
6. They eat breakfast.
7. They get to work on time and are never playing catch up all day.
8. They check in with their bosses and employees each morning.
9. They tackle big projects at the start of the day.
10. They avoid morning meetings which often kill momentum.
11. They schedule a time for following up messages and do not respond to emails and calls as they arrive.
12. They take a mid-morning break.
Good luck adopting these practices to your own life.
Farewell,
Mike
