Work Stress Indicators

There are a number of reasons for employees to decide to leave their positions.

It can vary from being passed over for a promotion, to not feeling challenged, or wishing to seek better remuneration elsewhere, but the most important reason for leaving occurs when one's mental health is being affected.

The following should all be personal triggers for people to initiate the process for looking for a new job.

1.

Duress is created from not getting along with a boss

2.

Becoming depressed about work when you are not there

3.

Your company is taken over there are perceived position redundancies.

This is especially serious for long standing employees that are likely targeted and would be deemed less attractive to other companies.

4.

Your company has had rounds of layoffs and the business is still suffering and people are becoming anxious about what will happen next.

5.

People have stopped talking to you and you feel new levels of discomfort.

6.

Your coworkers or your boss undermine your work and your personality is not one that allows for you to adequately defend yourself.

7.

Your stress has become unmanageable with more than one aspect of your life being disrupted.

8.

You are having nightmares about your job.

If you are experiencing any of the above, it is important to develop an exit plan as your health is being affected.

Different personalities will accept different degrees of stresses like these but the likelihood of the situation improving on it’s own is not very high.
