Make sure you build yourself a decent LinkedIn profile.

LinkedIn is not a trend.  If you do not have a presence on LinkedIn you are essentially in the same boat as the sixty-something employee you work with who is playing out the string and only understands the way things used to be.

By not having a decent LinkedIn profile, it tells people that you are not only not serious about your career and presenting yourself, but it also suggests that you are inept when it comes to social media.

1.            Have a picture.

2.            Indicate your responsibilities or your mandate (do not put successes down.  It is not a resume)

3.            Use key words to define what you do so people looking for those skills will be able to find you.
