Employee Diversity

It is amazing to see how Employee Diversity has advanced over the last few years.

The 2013 best diversity employers brought together by Mediacorp, BMO and diversity consulting firm TWI have established a comprehensive program that evaluates companies.

The days of token ethnic models on a corporate website won't cut it anymore.

The stakes have been raised.

If you want to claim employee diversity as a selling feature for recruitment purposes, you will have hot step up your game.

In the new world, c

ompanies need to have a clear defined strategy to reach diversity goals along with review and tracking measures.

Employers need to show how they promote cultural diversity through programs such as support groups, training for staff and show other initiatives relating to recruitment, retention, development, leadership and management accountability, customer and market diversity, and community partnerships.

Other considerations include an increased attention towards invisible disabilities such as mental health, addictions and learning disabilities.

The firms that are vying for these awards are not tier 3 organizations either.

Amex, Ernst & Young, KPMG, PWC, P&G, Rogers, Shell, and Xerox are just a few organizations who have aggressively gone after the awards.

Farewell,

Mike
